What's the most surprising thing about growing old?
That the interior landscape doesn't change. I've also been surprised by the fact that my interest in the outside world has diminished. People will tell me about this or that exhibition I've got to see, and I never get around to it. When I was young I made a point of getting around to it, but I'm no longer interested in seeing everything.
