Phong Bui (moderator)
Phong Bui is an artist, writer, independent curator, and former curatorial advisor at MoMA PS1, 2007 to 2010. He is also the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the monthly journal the Brooklyn Rail, the publishing press Rail Editions, and the Rail Curatorial Projects.
Lucinda Barnes
Lucinda Barnes serves as Curator Emerita at the University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, after many years as Chief Curator and Director of Programs and Collections. At BAMPFA, Barnes has curated and co-curated over forty exhibitions, including Measure of Time (2006), Human/Nature: Artists Respond to a Changing Planet (2009), Indeterminate Stillness: Looking at Whistler (2010), and Creation in Form and Color: Hans Hofmann (currently on view at the Kunsthalle Bielefeld, Germany). In 2013, she curated Rudolf de Crignis / MATRIX 245. Prior to BAMPFA, Barnes held senior curatorial posts at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; the Allen Memorial Art Museum at Oberlin College; and the Newport Harbor Art Museum (now the Orange County Museum of Art). Barnes trained in art history at the University of Southern California (PhD), Williams College (MA), and New York University (BA).
Suzan Frecon
Suzan Frecon is an artist who has exhibited widely in the United States and internationally. In 2008, her work was the subject of a major solo exhibition, form, color, illumination: Suzan Frecon painting, at The Menil Collection in Houston, Texas, which traveled to Kunstmuseum Bern in Switzerland. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions such as the 2000 and 2010 Whitney Biennial. Since 2008, her work has been represented by David Zwirner. Previous shows at the gallery in New York include Suzan Frecon: oil paintings and sun (2015); Suzan Frecon: paper (2013), a large-scale presentation of her works on paper from the past decade, which was presented concurrently with an exhibition of watercolors at Lawrence Markey in San Antonio, Texas; and Suzan Frecon: recent painting (2010). She lives and works in New York.
Linda Norden
Linda Norden is a curator, writer, and art historian based in New York. She is currently teaching as a Visiting Professor at Cornell University in New York and Malmö Art Academy/Lund University in Sweden.
